Drop In and Appointments

In order to provide the best experience possible to all students, while maintaining a full drop in and appointment service, all drop in sessions must be booked in advance. Drop In is designed so that one of the team can answer quick questions and sort out basic issues, and appointments are for more complex matters like extending a visa.

If you have a general query you can check our online resources for information on working in the UK during your studies, driving in the UK and our Frequently Asked Questions. If you cannot find the answer to your query online, you can follow the steps below to request to attend a drop-in advice session.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, Immigration and International Student Advice are only able to offer very limited face to face drop-in sessions. We therefore ask that where possible you use an alternative service to contact us if possible:

Ask an Adviser  - A live chat service with one of our Advisers

Telephone 01443 482083 - chat live to an Adviser on the phone

Email: international.advice@southwales.ac.uk- most queries are replied to within 24 hours, but complex queries might take up to 3 working days.

The above services are available during our working days, Monday to Friday.

If you have been through our information pages and still need to see someone face to face,  please complete the below form:

Drop In Appointment Request

You will recieve a reply, either with advice for your issue or a booked appointment within 3 working days.  We aim to answer all queries and book all appointments within 24 hours.

If you are asked to come in for an appointment, the email will confirm the time and date along with any other requirements or instructions.  As drop in slots are only 10 minutes in length, we request you arrive on time.  We will not be able to see you if you arrive late, and you will be asked to re-book.

Appointments are available for certain types of casework only.  If you belive you need to see an adviser for an appointment please email us with the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Student Number
  • Current Phone Number
  • Deatils of the issue which requires an appointment

Please also note if you are in the UK, and if you would prefer a phone appointment or face to face.  There are a limited number of face to face appointments, so in some cases you may be offered an initial phone appointment before seeing an adviser.

Advisers will do their best to reply to your email within 24 hours, but complex cases may take up to 3 working days to reply to.  Our working days are Monday to Friday. In order to assist you as efficiently as possible we would request that you do not send multiple and repeat emails.
